As summer winds down, I find myself reflecting: Did I really slow down this season? I think I did.
This summer was filled with simple joys; reading, long walks, blueberry picking, watching fireworks, and spending time on the water. We’re so lucky to live in New England, where a short drive in either direction can take you to some of the most beautiful beaches and coastlines.
I spent time with family and friends and truly enjoyed the long, lingering days of summer. I took scenic drives to places I’d never explored before, many just minutes from home.
Slowing down doesn’t come naturally to me, and I know it’s something I have to keep working at. But I’m excited to continue this journey—to be more present, more mindful, and to truly savor the moments as they come.
P.S.
Some of the books I read this summer:
There, There by Tommy Orange
On a Quiet Street by Seraphina Nova Glass
All the Colors of The Dark by Chris Whitaker
Slowing Down To The Speed of Joy by Matthew Kelly
